Dear John, How are you? Your site is going stronger than ever. Glad to see it. I thought you might like to know that I was contacted by: Rick H.[rickhummATverizonDOTnet] who had a Lydia and Robert Doxey who migrated to the US. Lydia's death record says she was the daughter of John Doxey and Mary Buckley. Doing some research, I found that Lydia and Robert were married in Sheffield, Yorkshire in 1864. Rick is sending for the record from the GRO. I have placed Lydia and Robert in their respective family trees and have attached it below. Hello John, What a pleasant surprise to find you in my Inbox this AM. Yes I found Kathryn's work on WorldConnect, as well as a Nancy Oram. Both responded to my email but Nancy has a new grandbaby and is quite busy so I have not heard again from her. Do you know Nancy as well as Kathryn? Nancy pointed me at your work and I visited the website a few weeks ago for the first time. I must say that I was overwhelmed and actually backed away at first. It will take some study time for me to be more comfortable with the information presentation thus being able to make use of it. As I told both of them I have what started with OFH (Oral Family History) from my grandmother. The interviews with my grandmother were in the early 1970s (maybe late 60s) and I have found that, even though she was suffering from some dementia at that point, her older family information has been nearly 100% accurate. I have Doxey information along my line from this OFH starting with Robert and Lydia (both born in England). I have ALMOST convinced myself that this is the Robert and Lydia, who were first cousins, marrying about 1864 in your work (D22-DOXY). In the 1900 US census Lydia is noted as mother of 12 with 5 living and I have not accounted for more than about 6. I see in your work that a Francis was possibly born prior to their marriage and a Sarah, neither if which I have information on. Along the datapoints (more on that later) I have seen both a Lillian and Elizabeth about the same age but never both on the same datapoint. Still, even if this is two people, I can only account for 9 of the 12 children. I am descended from George (b 1869) and he is my Great Grandfather. I can provide additional information on this family if that is what you are looking for? N.B. I see in your page D22-DOXY that George's brother John married a Laura in 1870. I suspect this may be a transcription error and really should be 1890 as Edna and Annabel were born in 1893/95. Since making this connection with Kathryn and Nancy I have tried to put together a data point file. I enclose this as datapoints.txt and suggest that you open in with WordPad or Notepad. Once open remove the Word-Wrap attribute to provide one VERY wide file. It contains one line per person and one column per Family documented event. I did this to try to understand if the SS Arizona family crossing in 1882 was my Lydia as the ages were all off. With this connection I can connect the UK and US census information and know I have a single family unit. I now believe that these people may have modified their age for the crossing to look more attractive as immigrants and that this is in fact my family.
