"PEDIGREES"

by Thomas Norris INCE 1799-1860

Here is a transcription of the 484 pages of this Manuscript Book, made from a microfilm copy supplied by Derby Local Studies Library. In most cases abbreviations have been expanded without comment to avoid confusion. A new page numbering system is used based on the microfilm frame order. Ince's original page numbers and the DLSL photocopy reference are given in red brackets. The original pages are held at DLSL, are separated, and unfortunately do not possess a coherent numbering system.
These pages were transcribed by John Palmer, Kathryn Farrell and Sonia Addis-Smith between Oct 1999 and Feb 2000. Proof-read by Sonia and John, edited and compiled by John. Contact about uncertain words, and I will recheck microfilm of the original.

Back to MENU Transcribed by Kathryn Farrell, Massachusetts, U.S.A. Pedigree of the family of Mr William NUTTALL of Wirksworth drawn up by T N Ince of Wirksworth March 1824 from gravestones in Wirksworth Church, Alfreton Church yard & other sources & a abstract of late Mr William NUTTALL's bills to lands in Wirksworth 19 Aug 1828 T N I [T N Ince] Saml NUTTALL & Elizth BELHOUSE mard at Youlgreave Decr 31=1712 & Eliz NUTTALL burd there June 29=1718 John NUTTALL an Innkeeper at Youlgreave cir 1740 The births of the 4 children of John & Ann NUTTALL, those of Will & John their great grandchildren and those of the last named William NUTTALL's children were copied by me T N Ince from an old Bible wch Mrs NUTTALL w[idow] of the late Mr William NUTTALL lent to me 6 May 1829 Which Bible seems originally to have belonged to a "John BALLECHOUSE" as his name is therein, & then "Bibel" & in another place James PAINTER his Book. It appears by another entry to have been given to John NUTTALL by his father 27 May 1725. This John NUTTALL has under his name in one place "Youlgreave 1752" & was the same John I apprehend who first settled at Wirksworth.
