"PEDIGREES" |
by Thomas Norris INCE 1799-1860 |
Here is a transcription of the 484 pages of this Manuscript Book,
made from a microfilm copy supplied by Derby Local Studies Library.
In most cases abbreviations have been expanded without
comment to avoid confusion.
A new page numbering system is used based on the microfilm frame order.
Ince's original page numbers and the DLSL photocopy reference are given
in red brackets.
The original pages are held at DLSL, are separated,
and unfortunately do not possess a coherent numbering system.
These pages were transcribed by John Palmer, Kathryn Farrell
and Sonia Addis-Smith
between Oct 1999 and Feb 2000.
Proof-read by Sonia and John,
edited and compiled by John.

Dear Sir,
I was pleased to see your handwriting once more, and obliged
to you for the information in your letter. Mr BANKS would seem to have
devoted himself unsparingly and unwisely to literary pursuits and so to
have injured his health and shortened his days. I am glad to find that his
partners son has succeeded to his office of magistrate's clark. Miss DAY
who was an authoress, and last summer whilst at Barnsley ? a patient of
mine, has made a fair division of her property. Mr JANSON gets a third of
it, and the DAYS of Shafton formerly, the other two thirds. Mr JANSON
had a good deal of attendance and cared for her in her last illness.
I suppose you are in a fair state of health considering your age and
former illness. For myself I can only report unfavourably, as I have
been out of health since last September but I have many kind friends
who comfort me with their sympathy and friendly offers.
With kind regards to Mr INCE I am Dear Sir
