Having seen your memorial record of John Buckley I thought you may
like to know about him..I believe your
grid re his parentage may not
be quite correct as the following pedigree may show.

Henry Flint a Mining Agent..This Marson family distant kin to my cousin of
today on her Walters side of the family...

2nd wife Millicent Butler married 1834 widow of John Butler nee Brookes..
John Butler was son of Samuel and Silence Butler of Bolehill nee Shaw..
Silence my kin via the Shaw family, Butlers my wife's allied family to
this very day..her Grt Uncle was Frank Butler 1/2 brother of her
Grandfather Herbert Evans.

George Buckley for a time lived with Peter and Mary Jones nee Flint of
my kin ..at Bolehill Herbert Harrisons Grt Grandson Norman Harrison was
a Councillor with my father.. Normans brother in law being my Uncle
John Samuel Flint. Norman Harrisons father William was Chairman of
Wirksworth U.D.C. when the road named after him Harrison Drive was built

William Samuel Spencer and Ellen were the parents of Edward Alec Spencer,
Joseph Samuel Spencer and Walter Spencer who I always call the Banding
Brothers ...W.S.Spencer was the founder of Middleton Victoria Brass Band
in 1891 which by the 1930s having won at The National Brass Band
Championships at Belle Vue Manchester was known as Middleton Silver
Prize Band his sons all players in the band their fellow players being
in the main drawn from the same blood kin including my own family..
Edward Alec known in my youth as Alec Spencer was my families musical
mentor his son today and I having over 30 years musical association we
co founders of The Dalesmen Male Voice Choir..Alec Spencer's brother
Walter was my brother's wife's Uncle .. Alec Spencer's son, my friend
today now in his 70s has recently retaken the baton of Brassington
Middleton & Wirksworth Youth Training Brass Band to make sure that the
band founded by his family continues to flourish
- 2.Mary Buckley born 1874 married Samuel Spencer ..Their daughters
Ellen and Sarah Millward nee Spencer were my mothers neighbours and
friends living in The Fields Middleton..they members of Middleton
Congregational Church Choir conducted by my Uncle Sydney Flint
He also a Bandsman
