- 2.Joseph Eaton born 1794 married Anne Spencer.of Middleton ...one of
their sons Joseph married Sarah Anne Swift of Scarthin Nick whose
daughter Frances Naylor Eaton married Joshua Dickinson of Cromford
..Both Swifts and Dickinson's my sister in laws kin of more recent years
also by marriage of my wifes kin via Slacks of Eastwood and Middleton.

of my wifes kin beyond Eaton connections..some buried at Middleton

- 8.Rebecca Eaton born 1805 married Edward Smethurst (also spelt
Smithurst) 1825
Children of George and Anne Eaton nee Clark
- 1.Josiah Eaton born 1840 married Anne Sims 1867 daughter of James and
Anne Sims nee Kniveton of Bolehill Josiah and Anne lived in many places
ie Brimmington, Pilsley, Brampton (all near Chesterfield) Bolehill
lastly at Cromford having children in each area..Josiah and Anne lived for
a time on Cromford Canal (Aquaduct Cottage) and had a daughter Violet
Eaton born 1882 who married Thomas Arthur Farnsworth son of Albert William
Farnsworth ..Albert William Farnsworth being cousin to my brother's wife's
Grandfather Thomas Millward Farnsworth who married Anne Potter of the same
Potter family as began this family pedigree re Jonathan Potter..Albert
William Farnsworth's nephew Albert Bertram Farnsworth was Headmaster at
Middleton Junior School when I attended as a pupil in the 1940s..another
kinswoman was Charlotte Farnsworth who wrote poetry some of which is on
the Cromford Village web site I believe

Joiner Cromford
I am led to believe that Frances Eaton son of George and Anne Eaton who
for a time must have lived away in the south of England possibly serving
an apprenticeship as he came back to Cromford as a Railway Engineer,
married Elizabeth Brownson daughter of John and Elizabeth Brownson nee
Walker..John and Elizabeth my Gr Gr Uncle and Aunt via Walker's
Elizabeth being sister to my Grt Grandfather Joseph Walker (born 1815
marr 3 times) who was Director of his own family firm of Joseph Walker
& Sons Building Contractor / Master Stonemasons..Joseph secured railway
contracts on the London NW Railway Co line building station property etc
from Gloucester - Carlisle.and into West Yorkshire. John Brownson was a
Joiner / Wood Turner at China House Yard Wirksworth.. John and Elizabeth
Brownsons other daughter Anne married my 3XUncle William Killer he
brother to my Gr Gr Grandmother Mary Flint nee Killer (married Samuel
Flint Wharfinger / Station Master Cromford & High Peak Railway 1834 -
also a Coal Merchant Middle Peak Wharf and Flint's Wharf Steeplegrange..)
William Killer a Joiner in the family firm which had depots at Middleton
and North End Wirksworth /Blind Lane Wirksworth was the founder of
Killer's Quarry his son's Adam Joseph William and John known as
Killer Bros Hopton Wood Stone.. Killers supplied stone for railway
building among other national building projects..
Footnote The Sims and Kniveton families were/are
also of my / my wife's family from early times to recent years..
