Hi John
I see that you are collecting family trees & that you haven't got a Godbehere one. Hard to believe that the name has disappeared from Wirksworth now when there were so many of them. Inspired by the parish records I found on Wirksworth.org.uk more than 5 years ago & my subsequent visits during our previous correspondence over the inclusion of Reg WARD's wartime letters 1940-44 . I decided to give tracing the family history lark a go, thinking that it'd keep me out of mischief in retirement. Afraid I got hooked when I got internet at home, some 3 years before I retire & started with the maternal side of my dad's family and thought that Godbehere'd be an easy one to start with (joke!). I'm not sure that all the attached is completely accurate & it's certainly not finished but here it is - warts & all! I have most of the census records including 1911, most of the references for every event and some additional bits of info from various sources but have left them out to make the thing more manageable. I'm happy for people to contact me, through you initally, with questions, additions & corrections.

I did find some Doxeys, eventually!

I also have Browns of Cromford in a similar state - some final work to do on it from 1911 & will let you have that too, if you're interested. Mum's family are Belper & Sheffield way so a bit out of your area.

So pleased you put [Mum's] collection of letters on the web site - I've directed lots of people there & all have found something of interest.
