Marriages witnesses 1754-1899


MARRIAGE WITNESSES were included in the Parish Registers 1754-1899. They are useful for several reasons. They were often related to or close friends of the bride or groom, which helps identify the marrying couple. In the absence of a marriage or burial record, a signature shows a witness was still alive! Tips about using MWs are given in NOTES
